TampinesCC@24thApr'11

In order not to disappoint both Julie and Devi, I decided to go ahead with the 1 hour session (which was extended for another 30 mins). During the closure, Devi mentioned "it's worth it" and Julie seemed very excited about the workout she got for her abdomen just merely through laughing. Laughter partners (Eric, XiuQing, Sutini and Choo) came to support with their hearty laughter. Very good very good yeah!!!

A 'Laughing Yoga' poem

My eldest brother, Alphonso so inspired by my laughter wrote this poem:

Laughter Yoga ... ho ho ho!!!
Laughter Yoga ... ha ha ha!!!
Come and join us in laughter
Making you feel better
Making your health stronger
Making your spirituality higher
Yes, all these simply through laughter
Really; it is Laughter Yoga Laughter
Come and experience it
Come and see how we do it
Come and laugh with us
Come and watch how fast
Laughter can transform you
Into a world which only you
Can judge the value of laughter
It is an exercise which will not falter
Your self esteem, your confidence
But one of well keeled reliance
On your hands and legs movements
Plus a hearty and deep laughing moment
That is all it takes to start ... Laughter Yoga Laughter.
Ho ho ho... Ha ha ha ... Laughter Yoga Yeah !!

A dedication to my laughing partners

My Laughter Partners
A class of 18 begins in a beginner’s English lesson,
Along the way, we lost 2, for some apparent reasons.
They came without knowing each other on 29th Dec 2010,
I am sure they will leave feeling for each other on 18th April 2011.
In that room, more than ABC was learned,
In that room, so much laughter were earned.
English , they said “a boring subject”, was taught full of fun,
Soon, 90 hours lessons will be gone and done.
Together these 16 had gone through a greatest transformation of their life,
As they were constantly charged with laughter for no apparent reason, true, am not telling a lie.
We laugh at each other silly mistakes,
We laugh at each improvement in stage,
We laugh celebrating each other’s birthdays with cakes.
We laugh at words - nouns (tea, noodles etc) with actions,
We laugh at words – verbs (clap, chant etc) with actions.
We laugh in group inside the class at all times,
We laugh in small group outside the class sometimes.
Constantly, the class is fills with ho ho, ha ha ha!!!
So much so, our neighbouring classes wondering why hey!!!
Thank you ladies; Ong, CC, Mary, Huang, XiuQing, Marlin, PHar, Shirley, BS, Choo and Zhou
Thank you gentlemen; Leslie, Seng, Darling Koh, Goh and Xiao
You all, are the reasons I look forward to my Mon and Wed, from seven to ten,
You all, for some, even though little improvement you made, I am very content.
You all, will be put to test just to affirm your understanding, yeah!!!
You all, remember just do your very best, don’t stress can? very good very good yeah!!!
Till we meet again, don’t forget to continue to laugh through-out your life, ha ha ha!!!
At least for this benefit, Endorphins you generate with every hearty laughter, ha ha ha!!!

Venue : Lorong 7 Toa Payoh

Programme :
9.00am : Introduction of Laughter Yoga
Laughter Yoga is a revolutionary idea - simple and profound. Anyone can Laugh for no Reason, without relying on humour, jokes or comedy. Laughter is simulated as a body exercise in a group; with eye contact and childlike playfulness, it soon turns into real and contagious laughter. The concept of laughter yoga is based on a scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter. One gets the same psychological and physiological benefits.

Sin Ming-FSC#2@15thApr'11

Have a 2nd session at the Sin Ming Family Service Centre. Although there are only Sunny and myself (towards the end, Yeo joined us), leading the group, we managed to get all 50+ members laugh even louder than before. It was a wise and quick decision to rope in the residents to help. More than 50% of those present are new to Laughter Yoga as we haven't seen them during the first session. As usual they are requesting for more session, "howabout twice a month", one lady asked. I was especially excited to see one old lady sitting on a wheel chair with her maid beside. This time round, she is much more cheerful. Hooray for another successful volunteer session with FSC.

Nur is always laughing in class. She has an early and easy delivery to this 9th Child ...thanks to all the laughing we have at the end of each lesson... ha ha ha!!!
Together with Siti and Heok, I took the opportunity to have a 30 mins. laughter session with all her 7 children. They must have enjoyed as we managed to fill the whole house with loud hearty laughter.
Muhammad is driving a taxi and doing some other part-time job to help provide for this big family. They are currently putting up in this rented flat waiting for their new 3-room flat which according to him would be ready by 2012.
I wished Muhammad and his charming wife, Nur together with their loving children a healthy, happy and laughable 2011
