29thOct11-7.15 pm-Nanyang cc

An assignment with Nanyang cc organized by Miss Serene Soh | Constituency Manager | | Nanyang Constituency office.
Participants will be residents of varied ages (mostly more seniors).  The 30mins. laughter Yoga session is before the presentation of the free Public Transport Vouchers. Most are in their 40’s to 70’s.

The chairs are set up from 500 pax and you see can from the video is full house ... some parents come with their children. Too bad my first time camera and video ladies only capture those 'playing' with us in the first few rows.

See the  movies to see how laughter exercises are so easy for elderly.

29thOct11-9am-ADA

This is our first laughter yoga session with ADA (Alzheimer's Disease Association)'s staff, organized by
Jocelyn Neo (Ms) - Manager - Corporate Services and Community Partnerships. It is for 27 staff but only 23    lucky ones + a photographer turn up and the session was held at the venue-NHC (Toa Payoh). Per Jocelyn, the purpose of our staff attending this course is to be trained to be able to lead their clients in laughter therapy.
At the end of the sessions these are the feedback from 23 of them:   happy, feeling great, very relax, fun but tired, less tense, can be done easily with the elderly, enjoyable, feeling good, feel relief,  very good form of exercise, will try to practice how to laugh and encourage my elderly to laugh, awake, no more worries, brain feel free and cool, heart open and happy, something new - uplifting of feelings, will learn to laugh from the heart and not from the mind, manage to release my stress, a new experience, energy level goes up, refresh, able to breath properly, beneficial for self and clients
The photographer commented: "As an observer, I noticed my colleagues became more lively, entertained and happy. I 've also never seen some of them this playful and cheerful. Laughter Yoga boosted their energy level"
Please see the movie to see how they enjoy the session. We looked forward to more such sessions from ADA.

24Oct-Kampung Senang 1hrLY#1

After the 9th Oct 2011 stage event, we had a friendly chat with the founder Ms Joyce Lye on an opportunity to teach Laughter Yoga to her members. Without any hesitation, Joyce agreed and this led to our first 1 hour Laughter Yoga session at Kampung Senang HQ.
Originally, the organizer told me 10 pax registered but only 6 turns up. I must said those who didn't turn up missed the great opportunity to have great fun not just from me ...from the great team dynamics..see the video lah!!!

Our team are looking forward to more such LY sessions at Kampung Senang. In KS, we laugh and do charity too ... very good very good yeah!!!

9Oct'11-Kampong Senang event

Ivan(Dolphin's masseur) and Martina(French) connect me with Kampung Senang's 12th year anniversary celebration on 9th Oct. ..organized by Kampung Senang Charity & Education Foundation.
Martina is to produce a short 20min. sketch about how stressed she is and needed help. Ivan came and try to help her with all his stuff also introduced me to stage saying that properly I too can help Martina. With that, we invited some not-so-shy members from the floor to join us on stage for a 10 mins. Laughter Yoga session. I must say it is indeed an eye opening for this group.
For more details of Kampung Senang visit their web site:
http://www.kg-senang.org.sg/link/kampung_senang/projects_and_contact.html

Managed to talk to Madam Joyce Lye Geok Choo who is the co-founder of Kampung Senang Charity and Education Foundation (“Kampung Senang”) about introducing Laughter Yoga session to the members of Kampung Senang through the 1 hour introductory classes.Looking forward to a few sessions with them.

7oct'11-children program at FuchunCC

I was connected with MRS Angela Ang-Fuchun CCWEC chairperson for her more than 400 pax (with 300 Children) program held at Fuchun CC's  Multi-purpose Hall. Wow, this is really a very big event with so many activities happening at the same time.
Anyhow, we have to change some of our prepared exercises as the crowd was simply too rowdy. Nonetheless, we managed to get more than 20 students on stage to repeat some of the exercises and the Toty-ta dance which was great.

2ndOct'11-SCS

I am very grateful to Eleanor (CLYL) for connecting me up with SCS (Singapore Cancer Society
新加坡防癌协会) - organizing committee, Janet Ling-Manager(Public Education). This is the second time we are invited to their event. Janet and I chat a little on how I can help them to better use Laughter Yoga. As this is the second session since May, a few new exercises was introduced...Abigail -nice tough exercise and Carmen-Gym exercise. The finale was getting more than 5 GOHs to the stage to do the toty-ta dance with the team. Our stage performance together with GOHs were also captured on Channel News Asia for the event... see the video.

16sep'11-6pm-Ivan/May session

I took my team (Abigail, Bing, Carmen, Doris, Ivan, Yam, Meng-carmera) to Orchard Center to have a 20 mins laughter session in conjunction with the

UN Year of Forests 2011 (UNF) Main Organisers:                        Institute of Parks and Recreation,Singapore(IPRS),  Lions Club of Singapore Culture, Joo Chiat Culture Toastmasters Club, Soroptimist International of Singapore.
My contact : Ivan and Maria Boey

This program lasts for 8 days from 9th Sept to 16th Sept. Due to my training and classes commitment, I only  agree to do one session.
As the crowd wasn't ready to play around 5 pm. I decided to wait and ride onto William's book launch crowd.
It was a good/great choice. Program for 16th Sept:

5.00pm: “Let’s Laughter Together” by Suzanne Subha Chew and her team
6.00pm: Guests Registration for William Lim’s book launch
6.45pm: Guest to be seated
7.00pm: Arrival of Guest-of-Honour
7.05pm: Welcome Speech by
7.15pm: Citation of William Lim, Writer, Speaker
7.30pm: Launch of "Instant Guide for Instant Speaker" Book by Guest-of-Honour and Book Reviews

My team could see that those present enjoy a good 20mins of Laughter Yoga session with us and we are very happy we put the program to good closure.

16Sep11-FSC

Had another (properly my last) exciting session (#6) at FSC - Sin Ming. Today I did re-run of all the exercises that I had taught the elderly residents. Of those present today, at least 90% of them for all 6 Laughter Yoga sessions and still want more... very good very good yeah!!! Followed with a video of the last 5 sessions (unfortunately, the audio and video systems were not perfect...hahaha!!!) and a Q&A cum sharing session. I wanted to know how are they coping and what problems they faced having played with me 6 times so far. From the movie clip they merely tell me all the goodness / benefits they experience.
